How It Works

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua.

  1. Self-Referral Submission
You may be able to refer yourself for an MRI scan, but rest assured, your submitted information will be carefully reviewed. Based on the review, it might be recommended for you to have a consultation with a doctor or GP before proceeding with the scan to ensure your safety and the best possible care. We do partner with Dr Online as well as other online doctor services and GP’s service providers if you would like an appointment privately. Please note this is only available for persons aged 18 and over.
  2. Limitations of the type of MRI available to self-referrals:
Restricted Scanning Areas:
Our self-referral MRI service is limited to scanning joints (MSK, knees, ankles, hips and upper limbs) and spines only. We do not perform MRI scans of the brain (without a doctor’s referral), liver, kidneys, abdomen, or any other areas without referrals from a medical clinician.
Exclusion of Certain Patients: If you have had previous monitoring or any medical condition that requires monitoring, we may not be able to perform the MRI scan. Please consult with your healthcare provider to determine if an MRI is suitable for you.
  3. Medical Review and Deposit Requirement
Once you have submitted the online referral form and if required, one of our doctors will contact you to discuss your referral in detail, this will incur a cost if you decide to go ahead with the consultation.
We can offer consultations with doctors who specialise in the area of your problem. At this point, we can provide you with the details of the consultant’s secretary.
If for any reason, once you have completed the MRI request form it has been rejected you will be telephoned and the reason for the rejection will be explained to you.
Prior to the day of the scan you will be required to make payment via Stripe or phone Opus reception.
  4. Sharing Information with Your GP
To complete your referral request, you’ll be asked to sign an agreement allowing us to share the details of your MRI and the results with your GP and if required other healthcare professionals. This is an essential step to ensure seamless continuity of care.
  5. Optional Follow-Up Service
Following your MRI, if required we can share contact details for a consultant that specialises in the area of your concern.
Take the next step toward understanding your health with Opus Diagnostics. With experienced radiologists and dedicated medical support, we’re here to provide the care and clarity you need every step of the way.

Answers to your questions

You may be able to refer yourself for an MRI scan, but rest assured, your submitted information will be carefully reviewed. Based on the review, it might be recommended for you to have a consultation with a doctor or GP before proceeding with the scan to ensure your safety and the best possible care. We do partner with Dr Online as well as other online doctor services and GP’s service providers if you would like an appointment privately.
